Wonderful perspective, Jill. I agree 100%. The days of long lunches and social outings are gone. Relationship selling has evolved. It is more efficient and more focused than in the past. I think that if one follows your "SNAP" model, you can outsell those engaging in more traditional relationships.

ReplyDeleteI have been selling for 100 years and it has always been about relationships, but the shape has changed over time. Additionally, somne relationships are today are human interaction and some (commmodity types) are electronic.
Nobody from Amazon calls me, but we have a terrific relationship because they make my buying easy (Jill's comment).
There is a lot of energy being invested in social media today, but it is simply a different approach to finding building and helping maintain a relationship.
Where the prospects need help (like large ticket products or services), the person to person relationship is still best route to success. I think her comments apply equally well here.
My advice.......is to listen to her...she gets it
